Mid-Season Break Announcement

Got something to say? Send us a text!
In this special update, Matt and Christina share that Write Out Loud will be taking a short, mid-season pause to recalibrate and focus on personal challenges and commitments. The hosts emphasize their dedication to delivering high-quality storytelling content and their desire to be fully present for every conversation. They also include a rallying cry for creatives who find themselves in similar circumstances.
Key Highlights
The "Spring Break" Pause: The team is taking a temporary break to handle family health issues and general life complexities, ensuring they don't "show up distracted" or rush the creative process.
Commitment to Authors: For authors currently scheduled or in conversation with the show, the hosts assure you that your episodes are still coming; they are simply being reshuffled to a later date.
Grace for Creatives: Christina encourages fellow writers and artists to give themselves the same "grace" to pause when life feels overwhelming, noting that it is okay to step back when you can't get your "head in the game".
Looking Ahead: This is not the end of the season. The show will return soon with more discussions on the craft, culture, and artistry of storytelling.

Matt: Welcome everybody to write Out Loud, the podcast that you've grown to love about all things storytelling, writing, authorship, and of course artistry. Uh, of course my name is Matt, and as always, I'm joined by the sharp, witted, magnetic, wildly perceptive, and amazing. Christina.
Christina: wildly perceptive.
Matt: Yes.
Christina: I think a lot of readers are wildly perceptive because we're reading. The human condition. We're reading these characters that are developed. So
Yeah, I think
Matt: sure.
Christina: readers are very perceptive people in
Matt: Absolutely. No, I agree. I agree. We wanted to take a minute just to talk to you. Honestly, life is full right now. In meaningful ways, in complicated ways and just very human ways. And I think for a few personal reasons, we've just decided it's time for us to take a short, mid-season break.
Here's what we're not gonna do. Show up distracted. We're not gonna rush the conversations, we're not gonna record just so we can stay on schedule. If we're gonna sit down and talk about stories, about the craft, about the culture, about things [00:01:00] that matter to us and the things that we love, we wanna be fully present.
And right now, the best way to honor that commitment is just to take a bit of a pause.
Christina: Yeah I do think it's a good time for a pause. Maybe call it spring break.
Matt: There we go.
Christina: we have spring fever. Personally have a lot going on right now. Some family, uh, health issues some things like that. What you said before is absolutely correct. We don't wanna rush things.
We don't wanna just put something out there for the sake of, oh, we gotta put a new episode out.
Matt: Yeah.
Christina: gonna do? We always wanna bring quality content. We do have several authors who, were. Plan to be on and we've had to shuffle some things around. So I think it is a good time just to take a little bit of a break, spring break.
Matt: Spring break sounds wonderful. I'm gonna head to Miami. But no, seriously, for the authors that we had been in conversation with, we had lined up, we had scheduled and we had talked to we are going to get to you. We have not forgotten about you. [00:02:00] Just hang tight with us, be patient with us.
We will be back and we will get in touch with you well ahead of the time that we are planning on having you on to record. Absolutely. I think this is just a good time for that moment of just pausing, reflecting, getting stuff done, taking care of ourselves and, uh, coming back stronger.
Christina: Yeah. And I do think I'm gonna take this moment too to also tell authors that you're writing your books, when you're editing, when you're working on your content give yourself that same kind of grace we're doing here. The world is on fire and you've got things going on and it's distracting. I know that there's a crowd that says, Hey, I can edit something that's terrible. If I write something terrible, sometimes you just can't get your head in the game. And if this is one of those moments, uh, for you I would encourage the pause.
Matt: Yeah.
Christina: I've got the best [00:03:00] podcast partner in the world. He allowed me uh, the time I needed. We took a couple breaks already during this season. Yeah, I think this is an important time to let creative people know that it's okay to take a pause, take a break. We fully intend on coming back. We
Matt: Yep.
Christina: intend on, giving you guys the best content, that we can produce. Having authors on, writers on all different types of experiences, all that kind of good stuff. So just stay tuned.
Matt: 100%. This is not the end of the season. It's not even close. It is just a breath, we'll be back soon, steady, focused, and ready to jump back into the conversations that you love. But until then, revisit an episode you've been thinking about. Send us some topics. Start a debate in the comments on our socials.
Uh, we're still here. We're just recalibrating. And we will talk to you all very soon. So thank you very much for allowing us to take this break and please remember to keep [00:04:00] writing out loud.
